Page Authority
Moz metric that predicts the likely ranking strength of a single page on a scale from 1 to 100.
Also known as: PA, Page Score
Page Authority is a score developed by Moz that predicts how well a single URL is likely to rank in search engines. The value draws on data about that specific page's link profile and ranges from 1 to 100, with higher values signalling stronger ranking potential. Unlike Domain Authority, Page Authority focuses on the individual sub page, not the entire domain.
How the value is calculated
Moz analyses more than 40 signals, including the number and quality of inbound links to the specific URL, the topical relevance of the linking pages and the ratio of follow to nofollow links. The scale is logarithmic, so a jump from 30 to 40 is much easier than from 70 to 80. Page Authority is a relative comparison value, not an absolute ranking guarantee.
Practice and limits
Marketing teams mainly use the score to assess competing pages in the SERP or to benchmark their own sub pages against rivals. Anyone aiming for a high Page Authority focuses on topically relevant backlinks, internal links from strong hub pages and long lived content. The score should never be viewed in isolation, but always together with search intent, content depth and actual rankings.
Practical use
In day to day marketing, Page Authority serves as an indicator during linkbuilding and competitive analysis. When placing guest articles, you check the Page Authority of the target page, not just the Domain Authority. For your own landing pages, the value helps you prioritise internal linking and strengthen weaker pages in a targeted way.
