Artificial Intelligence

Branch of computer science where systems take on tasks that normally require human learning, reasoning or perception.

Also known as: AI, Machine Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is a branch of computer science where systems take on tasks that usually require human capabilities such as learning, reasoning or perception. The term spans simple rule engines, classic machine learning, deep neural networks and modern large language and image models. In marketing AI today is less of a distant vision and more a class of tools for analysis, creation and steering.

Flavours and Methods

The most relevant variants for marketing are machine learning for classification and forecasting, neural networks for language and vision and generative models for text, code, image and audio. On top of that sit agentic systems that combine multiple tools to finish a task on their own. Each of those flavours brings its own strengths, limits and risks.

Practice and Responsibility

Good results emerge when AI handles a well scoped subtask whose output you can check. Hallucinations, bias and data protection are the main risks, especially in generative models. If you use AI in production, document the models, versions and data sources and define escalation paths for the moments when output deviates from expectations.

Relevance to the JD Platforms

Inside the JD platforms models are used carefully and with purpose, for example for spam and bot detection, suggestion of matching ad slots and ideas for subject lines. Decisions with real economic or legal weight stay with humans, the model only assists. That keeps the steering transparent and traceable, which matters in the relationship with advertisers and recipients.
