AI Avatar
A computer generated person with voice and facial expression that appears in video or chat instead of a real human.
Also known as: Synthetic Presenter, Digital Avatar
An AI avatar is an artificially generated figure that speaks, looks and gestures like a human. It is created from a photo, a voice sample or a script and can deliver any number of videos in any number of languages. In marketing the avatar replaces shoots with camera, presenter and studio.
How an avatar is created
A model takes image, voice and text and generates a video in which the figure says the requested lines. Lip sync, facial expression and eye contact are computed by the model. For brand use you need rights to the source image, clean audio material and guardrails for topics and statements.
Where avatars fit and where not
They suit product explainer videos, training material, multi language versions, explainer content in newsletters or personalised greetings. They are weak for emotionally charged topics, sensitive customer situations or as a substitute for actual proof. A clear AI label protects trust.
Relevance for JD Mail and JD Partner
In JD Mail mailings can embed an avatar video that shows a different variant per recipient segment, for example language or salutation. In JD Partner avatar clips can be part of an advertising package without a new shoot for every variation. It is important to check that the avatar variant fits the brand and the recipient.
