Click Through Rate (CTR)
Ratio between clicks and impressions or opens that captures how much attention a creative or an email actually earns.
Also known as: CTR, Click-Through-Rate, Click Rate
The click through rate, CTR for short, is the share of recipients or viewers who clicked on a link, an ad or a call to action. It is one of the core metrics in digital marketing because it shows how well content, audience and ad context fit together. Without clicks there is neither traffic nor conversions.
Calculation and Reference Base
In display advertising CTR divides clicks by impressions. In email it divides by deliveries or opens. From those references you get the CTR, the unique CTR and the click to open rate, each interpreted differently. Display values between 0.5 and 3 percent are normal, in email 2 to 8 percent are typical depending on industry and audience.
Levers for a Better CTR
A strong CTR grows out of clear subject lines, matching imagery, visible call to action elements and precise audience targeting. Mobile rendering, load time and a visible value promise often matter more than pure aesthetics. Variant tests and click heatmaps help expose weak spots before performance suffers.
Relevance to the JD Platforms
JD Mail reports click rates per send for every audience segment, variant and link target so performance comparisons are quick. JD Partner uses CTR on ad slots to grade the quality of campaigns and lists, because weak click rates often hint at sloppy audience selection or thin creatives. In JD Leads CTR is the bridge between reach and actual lead generation, which makes it the most useful early indicator for campaign success.
