CSA

Certified Senders Alliance, a whitelist programme for trustworthy commercial email senders in the DACH region.

Also known as: Certified Senders Alliance, CSA Certification, CSA Whitelist

The Certified Senders Alliance is a joint whitelist project by the eco association and the German Direct Marketing Association. It certifies commercial senders who provably meet high sending and data protection standards. Certified senders gain better access to the inboxes of the major German mailbox providers.

What CSA certification means

CSA certification is not a marketing label but a measured standard. To get on the CSA list, senders must meet strict technical and legal criteria including clean double opt in processes, documented bounce handling, correct authentication via DKIM and SPF, plus measurably low complaint and bounce rates.

Which mailbox providers recognise CSA

The major German mailbox providers treat CSA certified IPs preferentially. These include Web.de, GMX, Telekom Mail, Vodafone, freenet and 1&1. CSA senders also benefit from feedback loops which feed complaints directly back to the sender.

CSA status at JD Media

JD Media is currently under CSA admission review and already operates a dedicated IP block for CSA compliant setup. The final listing is expected soon.
