Telegram Ads

Advertising within the Telegram platform, served inside public channels with more than one thousand subscribers.

Also known as: Telegram Advertising, Telegram Ad Platform

Telegram Ads is the official advertising network of the messenger Telegram. Ads appear as sponsored messages at the bottom of public channels with more than a thousand subscribers. A single ad consists of up to 160 characters of text and one link, classic images or videos are not supported in the standard format.

Booking and minimum spend

Booking runs through the Telegram Ad Portal based in the United Arab Emirates. Minimum entry budgets have historically been several thousand euros per campaign, which is why the format mainly appeals to crypto projects, large apps and high reach publishers. Targeting is based on language and channel categories, not personal profiles, mirroring the platform's privacy stance.

Reach and limitations

Telegram regularly reports hundreds of millions of active users, yet ad pressure per channel stays low because only one ad is served per block. Conversion tracking is limited because no pixels and no client side tags are possible. Success is usually measured through UTM parameters and downstream landing page analysis.

Where it fits in the ad market

Telegram Ads is a niche option next to the major social platforms and is mainly useful when the target audience demonstrably hangs out inside Telegram channels. For classic German B2C advertising, reach and targeting depth are often insufficient. Anyone testing the channel should start with clear landing pages, clean UTM parameters and a test budget that can absorb learning cost.
