Augmented Reality Ads
Ad formats that deliver AR content, for example a virtual product to try on or an interactive game inside the camera image.
Also known as: AR Ads, Interactive AR Ads
AR Ads are ad formats that launch an interactive AR scene instead of a classic image or video. Users point their camera at themselves or at a room and see the product directly in their own context, for example sunglasses on their face or a sneaker on their foot. The format combines advertising with a mini experience.
How AR Ads differ from regular ads
Regular ads live from image and message, AR Ads live from interaction. Success is therefore measured not only in clicks but in try on sessions used, variant changes, dwell time and the rate that converts afterwards. Production and maintenance are heavier because of 3D assets, licences and device testing.
When AR Ads pay off
AR Ads work when a product becomes notably easier to choose once seen in your own room or on your own body. Fashion, cosmetics, eyewear, footwear, furniture and decor are typical fits. For pure commodity products or where the benefit is abstract, classic formats usually convince more and at lower cost.
In daily marketing work
AR Ads usually run inside ad networks and social platforms that handle AR rendering in their own browser or app. What matters is a clear call to start try on, a brief onboarding hint and a sensible bridge into the shop such as product page or cart. In reporting, AR interactions should run as separate events so they do not disappear into general click counts.
